Satin Joggers

For my first project of the semester, I decided to make a pair of pants. After looking through hundreds of patterns on JOANN's website, I decided on a pair of joggers. Joggers have been so popular this season, so I thought it would be perfect to make something I can get so much wear out of.
I chose a navy hammered satin fabric. I love the texture of the fabric because of the depth it adds to the garment. On the sides of the pants, I added white piping, to go off of the athleisure trend. Originally the pattern had the pants being folded over and hemmed at the bottoms. After trying the pants on and thinking they look way too much like pajama pants, because of the fabric, I decided to add an elastic casing at the bottom of each leg.
These pants were definitely one of the hardest garments I have made yet. There were many elements of the pants that I wanted to change to suit my personal style, which then complicated other aspects of the garment. In the end, I am so happy with how the pants turned out. My goal for the semester was to create something I would actually wear, and I have achieved that with these pants.
